Lesson 12: Rubrics are pattern documents.
A good rubric is a structured pattern — criteria × levels × descriptors — exactly what models produce instantly. Clear descriptors speed your grading AND end the “why did I get a B?” conversations.
Why this matters: Vague rubrics cost twice: slow grading now, grade disputes later. A tight rubric with observable descriptors makes grading faster, fairer, and defensible — and students actually learn from it.
