📖 Today’s lesson
Lesson 2: Output control — you set the reading level.
Models mirror the register you request. Ask for 6th-grade language and a compassionate tone, and dense MedSpeak becomes something patients actually follow.
Why this matters: Non-compliance is rarely defiance — it is almost always confusion. We spend a decade learning a dialect of Latin and Greek, then wonder why patients don’t follow instructions written in it. Translation at a controlled reading level takes the model seconds, and the recipe works on every patient-education document you’ll ever write.
