👥 Zekai Challenge · HR Edition

From zero to AI master.
30 days. 5 minutes a day.

AI is rewriting how people are hired, managed and measured — and HR is the function least equipped for it. One 5-minute drill a day, with the rule that keeps you legal built into every one: AI drafts, humans decide.

The Gap

0%

of organisations have adopted AI in HR. 62% use it elsewhere in the business.

Nearly a third have no plans at all. The function that owns how people are hired and managed is the one being left behind.

The Room

0%

of organisations don’t involve HR in AI strategy at all.

It sits with IT, legal or cross-functional teams. Decisions about how AI touches people are being made without the people function in the room.

The Exposure

0%

don’t know their state already regulates AI in employment.

Nineteen of the most populous US states have enacted AI laws touching employment. Of the HR professionals who do know, just 12% have taken any step to comply. That is the gap this challenge closes first.

The plan is simple.

No course platform. No 6-hour videos. A daily drill you run in any AI assistant — built around hiring, policy and people data, and around the boundary that keeps you on the right side of employment law.

Your 30 days. Every one of them, mapped.

Four weeks, four escalations: foundations → core workflows → judgment → mastery. Day 1 is open right now — try it. The rest unlock one per day after you sign the challenge, because mastery is built on daily reps, not binge-reading.

Day 30 has a trophy.

Finish the challenge and earn the Zekai Certificate of Completion — proof you didn’t just read about AI, you practised it for a month. Type your name. Go on.

Certificate of completion of an educational challenge — not SHRM or HRCI recertification credit and not a professional credential. But it looks good on LinkedIn.

Questions before you start

Is this really free?
Yes. Zekai is an independent AI tools directory — the challenge is how we introduce people to the tools we test. Some tool pages contain affiliate links; the challenge itself costs nothing and requires no purchase.
Is it legal to use AI in hiring?
Drafting is ordinary work. Deciding is regulated. The moment a tool screens, scores, ranks or rejects candidates it becomes an Automated Employment Decision Tool, and in a growing number of jurisdictions that triggers real obligations — NYC Local Law 144 requires an annual independent bias audit, a published summary and ten business days’ notice to candidates, with penalties from $500 to $1,500 per violation. Nineteen of the most populous US states now have AI laws touching employment. Day 6 draws the line, day 13 shows you what crossing it looks like, day 28 has you check your own jurisdiction. The rule underneath all of it: AI drafts, humans decide.
Can I paste employee data into these tools?
No — not into a general assistant, and the drills are written to keep you out of that habit. Every prompt that touches people data carries an anonymisation instruction, and day 9 makes the categories that must never be automated explicit: grievances, harassment reports, health disclosures, and anything hinting at self-harm.
Why can’t I see all 30 drills at once?
Because binge-reading builds nothing. The challenge unlocks one drill per day from the day you sign — the way any skill gets built: daily reps. Day 1 is open right now so you can try it before committing.
Do I need any AI experience?
Zero. Day 1 assumes you have never written a deliberate prompt. By day 14 you will be building a full 90-day onboarding programme in one pass. Never used an AI assistant? 2-minute setup guide →
What if I miss a day?
Life happens, and so do investigations. The challenge is sequential, not strict-daily. Pick up where you left off; the certificate cares that you finish all 30, not that you were perfect.
Does the certificate count for SHRM or HRCI recertification?
No. It is a certificate of completion of an educational challenge — not recertification credit and not a professional credential, and not issued by or affiliated with any HR body. It certifies that you put in 30 days of deliberate AI practice.
I’m not in HR. Is there a challenge for my profession?
This is the HR Edition. Doctors, lawyers, accountants, teachers, marketers, students and real estate agents are already running theirs, with more professions coming. Sign up and we’ll tell you when yours goes live.
