What makes a free tier "verified"?
The core product has to do its job at $0 per month, indefinitely, without card details up front. We check that claim ourselves rather than trusting the pricing page — which is why only 12 of the tools in our directory appear here.
Is a free trial counted as free?
No. A trial that expires, converts to paid, or asks for a card before you can use the product is not a free tier, no matter how the vendor markets it. Those tools are in the directory but not on this page.
Does being free improve a tool's score?
No. The 1–10 Zekai Score rates ease of use, accuracy, time saved and value for money independently of price. A free plan never inflates it, and a paid tool is never marked down for costing money.
How often is this checked?
Pricing is re-verified on a rolling basis and the page rebuilds from the current data, so a tool that quietly drops its free tier falls off this list rather than sitting here out of date.
