Role Title: Litigation Attorney

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

Opportunity Snapshot

Pay: $80–150/hour equivalent

Time per task: ~8 hours for task creation

Engagement: Project-based — paid per approved task

Location: Remote — open to U.S.-licensed attorneys

Commitment: Flexible — work around your practice

Your tasks: Build complex legal reasoning tasks from your own practice

our partner is engaging practicing U.S. attorneys to design the legal reasoning problems that measure what AI systems can actually do. Your legal expertise is what matters here — no prior AI experience required.

The work draws on what you do every day: taking a complex fact pattern, identifying the issues that matter, and reasoning to a defensible conclusion. We’re expanding this pipeline and looking for attorneys who can produce genuinely difficult problems — the kind where the answer depends on reading the authority correctly.

What you’ll do

  • Build complex legal reasoning tasks from scenarios like those you handle in practice, with realistic supporting materials.
  • Provide the correct analysis and walk through the reasoning that gets there.
  • Define what makes an answer right, so another attorney reviewing it would reach the same verdict.
  • Review tasks built by other attorneys for legal accuracy and soundness of reasoning.
  • Flag tasks that turn out to be ambiguous or ungradable rather than submitting them.

What we’re looking for

  • J.D. and active U.S. bar license in good standing.
  • 3–15 years of practice experience, actively practicing in litigation, corporate, real estate, bankruptcy, or compliance.
  • Strong preference for seasoned litigators.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is a strong plus.
  • Law school teaching or legal instruction experience is a strong plus.
  • Law review or journal editorial experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience on legal AI or legal data projects is a strong plus.
  • English at C1 level or above.

Selection process

  • Apply and complete the screening questions
  • Complete the AI interview for this role — it’s how your expertise gets in front of the client
  • Profile review

What to know before you apply

Pay
At the published rate, 10 hours a week would be about $800–$1,500 and 20 hours about $1,600–$3,000 before tax. Hours depend on the project, so treat this as a ceiling, not a promise.
Openings
40 openings means this is a high-volume project. You are not competing for one seat: if you pass the test, there is room for you.
Location
Open worldwide in the countries the employer accepts. Payments usually go out through services like PayPal or Wise, so check one of them works in your country.
Credentials
The listing asks for a law degree / bar admission, 15+ years of experience. Put it in the first line of your profile: reviewers screen for it before anything else.
Timing
This listing is new today. Projects can close once they have enough people, so it is worth applying while it is open.
Test tips for lawyers
  • Name the jurisdiction in every answer. Most rejected legal answers are correct law in the wrong place.
  • Read AI legal answers like opposing counsel: hunt for invented case citations and outdated statutes first.
  • Keep a one-page note of the key rules in your practice area. It speeds up every task.
