A newly released video course for eighth-grade chemistry is now available to students and teachers across the country on Prosveshcheniye's Lecta educational platform. According to the publishers, the material is designed to serve as a digital supplement to the standard school curriculum, complying with the Federal State Educational Standard and the Federal Working Program for Chemistry. The initiative stems from an agreement between Prosveshcheniye and SIBUR that originated at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The course structure spans seven topics to be published sequentially over the course of the school year, with the first topic becoming accessible on September 9. Each topic breaks down into four short videos, totaling 28 videos. These segments intend to guide students from foundational chemical concepts and experiments toward applications in petrochemistry, medicine, transportation, and construction. The creators plan to submit the course for review to gain inclusion in the federal list of electronic educational resources.
Artificial intelligence plays a specific role in the project as a visualization tool rather than a curriculum planner. The publishers state that AI technology is utilized to realistically visualize molecular structures, display close-up experiments, and map school formulas directly into petrochemical laboratories.
